CBD Facial

Cannabis: medicinal, recreational, industrial, religious...

One of the newest trends for cannabis is cosmetics with cannabinoids. You may have seen Milk Makeup's KUSH High-Volume Mascara, which is vegan, paraben free, and cruelty-free. Also stated to have been interested in using hemp oil in their products since inception. Brands such as Hempz body lotion line have been on the shelves of beauty stores for a few years, but it's great to see activated cannabis products in the dispensaries as well with things like Papa & Barkley's Relief soak and balm.

My weekend luxury was a trip to _ for a CBD Facial. The moment I walked through the doors I was welcomed into total zen; lights dimmed, the sounds of singing bowls, and a hint of __ in the air. While beginning my consultation, Tarren brewed me a cup of Kikoko's Positivi-tea containing 10mg THC and 5mg CBD resulting in a mood elevating and relaxing high. On one wall was a shelf containing a range of Khus Khus products- a 100% botanical product promoting healthy plant products for healthy body, skin and mind.

"We want to collect the life-force energy contained in botanicals and share their healing potential with you, and that requires healthy, ethically grown plants... We formulate to assist the body in calming the nervous system and enhancing the skin this also assist in the regulation of the immune system, we believe plants heal, that is healthy plants heal." - khus-khus.com

This was my first ever facial, so Tarren walked me through the steps as we went. Our consultation was a conversation surrounding my skin, allergies and preferences followed by getting comfortable on the table while T prepped and examined my skin. After a quick cleanse, a concoction of CBD serums from Khus-Khus was paired with a deep tissue facial massage to help absorb the cannabinoids. This was topped with a mask, and while that set Tarren used SweetReLeaf THC balm to massage my shoulders and feet. I could feel myself drifting into complete relaxation. I was amazed that every opportunity, a cannabis-derived product was opted for.

After removing the remaining product from my skin, I could actively feel my face. It's as if there was a buzz to it, and the medicated products left me with a body high so mellow that I decided to cancel my plans for the rest of the day. I was floating on the cloud of loving your body, and the feelings that come from treating it with care. Once home I spent the afternoon meditating and letting myself revile in the relax. I highly recommend exploring a CBD Facial the next time you're in need of some self-care, and check out the options from your local dispensary or beauty supplier for a stay home spa day.
